Privacy Policy

What we collect, what we do with it, and what we won't do with it. Written in plain language, no dark patterns.

Unrestricted AI (“Unrestricted,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) runs an uncensored AI chat product at unrestricted.chat. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email privacy@unrestricted.chat.

1. Information you give us

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier from Google. When you sign up with email and password, we receive the email address you submit and a hashed form of the password you choose. When you send a message to the model, that message is associated with your account.

2. Information we collect automatically

When you use the site we automatically collect limited technical information: IP address, user-agent string, coarse geolocation inferred from IP, referrer URL, timestamps, and interaction events that help us measure product usage and diagnose errors (for example, “message sent,” “sign-in started,” or “page viewed”). We use first-party cookies and localStorage for session management and to remember your preferences.

3. Cookies, SDKs & similar technologies

We use a small number of first- and third-party technologies, each with a specific job:

  • First-party cookies and localStorage. Keep you signed in, remember UI preferences (theme, sidebar state), and protect against CSRF.
  • Product analytics. A privacy-respecting analytics SDK records aggregate events (page views, message sent, sign-in started). It runs first-party where possible and does not build cross-site profiles of you.
  • Error monitoring. Crash and error reports with stack traces and a coarse user identifier so we can diagnose bugs.
  • Payment processing. Our payment processor uses its own scripts on the checkout page to take card details securely; we never see your full card number.

We do not embed advertising SDKs, retargeting pixels, or trackers used for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not participate in ad networks.

4. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Operate the chat product and keep your account signed in.
  • Save your conversations to your own account so you can return to old threads.
  • Send transactional email (verification, password reset, receipts).
  • Detect abuse, prevent fraud, and enforce our acceptable-use policy.
  • Measure aggregate product performance and ship improvements.
  • Comply with applicable law.

We do not use your information to serve ads or to build a behavioral profile of you for marketing.

5. Aggregated and de-identified information

We may produce aggregated or de-identified information from the data we collect — counts, percentages, usage patterns — that no longer identifies any individual. We may publish, share, or use that aggregated information for any lawful purpose, including public reports on model performance.

6. When we disclose personal information

We share personal information only in these situations:

  • Service providers. Cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing, analytics, and error monitoring vendors who process data on our instructions and under written confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • Model providers. The prompts you send are forwarded to the upstream model API so the model can generate a response. We contract for zero training use and minimum retention with those providers, but your prompt transits their infrastructure.
  • Legal process. Where we receive a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful request — and only the narrow information required to respond.
  • Business transfers. In the unlikely event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, personal information may transfer to the successor entity, subject to this policy or an equivalent one.
  • With your consent. Any other sharing happens only when you ask us to.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. To exercise these rights, email privacy@unrestricted.chat from the address associated with your account. We will not retaliate against you for exercising a right available to you under privacy law.

8. Exercising your rights

To submit a rights request, email privacy@unrestricted.chat with a clear description of the request. We will verify your identity using the email on file with your account, or by asking for additional information sufficient to match you to the account. You may authorize an agent to submit a request on your behalf; we will require proof of that authorization. We respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

9. Where and how we store your data

Unrestricted AI runs on cloud infrastructure in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and encrypted at rest at the storage layer. Access to production systems is limited by principle of least privilege and logged.

DataWhere it lives
Account & profilePrimary US-based Postgres database, encrypted at rest.
Conversation historySame database, scoped to your account.
Operational logsShort-lived; rotated and purged on a regular schedule.
BackupsEncrypted, retained on a rolling schedule per provider policies.

10. How long we keep your data

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable tail afterward to complete the purposes described in this policy — fraud prevention, legal compliance, and dispute resolution. You can delete individual conversations from your history at any time, and you can request deletion of your account by emailing privacy@unrestricted.chat.

Data typeRetention
Account & profileActive life of your account.
Conversation historyUntil you delete it or close your account.
Diagnostics & logsLimited time for security and reliability.
BackupsRolling schedule per provider policies.
Legal-hold copiesAs long as required by applicable law.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information — encryption in transit, encryption at rest for the database, principle-of-least-privilege access, logging, and regular patching. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a data incident that affects you, we will notify you consistent with applicable law.

12. International data transfers

Unrestricted AI is operated from and served through infrastructure located in the United States. If you access the product from outside the United States, your personal information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country. By using the product, you consent to that transfer and processing where lawfully required.

13. Regional disclosures

The rights below are in addition to the rights described elsewhere in this policy, and apply where you are a resident of the named region.

EEA, UK, and Switzerland

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Unrestricted AI is the data controller for personal information processed under this policy. We process that information on one or more of the following lawful bases: performance of a contract with you (operating the product you asked us to operate), our legitimate interests (securing the service, preventing fraud, improving the product) where those interests are not overridden by your rights, compliance with a legal obligation, and your consent where required. Where we transfer data outside the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, the categories of sources, the purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it; the right to access and delete their personal information; the right to correct inaccurate information; and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise other rights, email privacy@unrestricted.chat.

Virginia (VCDPA)

Virginia residents may request access, correction, deletion, and a portable copy of their personal data, and may opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, and profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. We do not engage in those activities. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response; we will respond to appeals within statutory timelines.

Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states

Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other U.S. states with comprehensive consumer-privacy laws have rights substantially similar to those described above (access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out from targeted advertising, sale, and certain profiling). Use the same contact path to exercise them.

Nevada

Nevada residents have a right to opt out of the sale of certain personal information. Send a request to privacy@unrestricted.chat with the subject “Nevada Do Not Sell Request.” We do not currently sell personal information as defined by Nevada law.

Brazil (LGPD)

If you are in Brazil, you have the rights granted by the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD): confirmation of processing; access to your data; correction of incomplete or inaccurate data; anonymization, blocking, or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data; data portability; information about the entities with whom we share your data; the right to withdraw consent; the right to object to processing; and the right to review of decisions made solely on the basis of automated processing. Use the contact email above.

14. Children

Unrestricted AI is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email privacy@unrestricted.chat and we will delete it promptly.

15. Links to other sites

Our site links to third-party sites — our blog may link to sources, and our sign-in flow forwards you to Google. Those sites have their own privacy practices. We're not responsible for the content or privacy practices of sites we link to. Read their policies before submitting information to them.

16. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change or the law requires it. When we make material changes we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide a more prominent notice (for example, by email or an in-product banner). Continued use of the product after an update means you accept the revised policy.
